Dynamic Radionuclide Venogram Correlation with Radiographic Contrast Venography
نویسندگان
چکیده
A simple technique of dynamic radionuclide venographyusing a Searle LFOV gamma camera and an associated whole-body scanning couch-was investigated to demonstrate venous flow from the foot to the inferior vena cava on a single image. Results of this method were correlated with radiographic contrast venography in prospective studies in 84 patients. Correlation between radionuclide and contrast venograms was 79% in the pilot study; it improved to 96% with modification of scan technique and assessment criteria in a second study. Hot spots and stasis proved to be unreliable indicators of qeep vein thrombosis (D VT). The radionuclide venogram appearance that correlated best with contrast studies was diversion of the flow from deep to superficial veins.

Non-Contrast-Enhanced Renal Venography Using Spatial Labeling With Multiple Inversion Pulses ( SLEEK )
Renal venogram is often used to diagnose renal vein thrombosis or evaluate renal venous system for kidney transplant patients and donors. The existing MRI technique for renal venogram is delayed Gd enhanced MRA. The contrast enhanced technique has its limitations: 1: the arterial contamination; 2: the potential association between the gadolinium-contrast and the nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (N...

The patient was an obese 68-yr-old female presenting with a 3-wk history of tenderness and edema of the left lower extremity with associated cellulitis. Physical exam revealed a negative Homan's sign. Doppler studies, performed prior to admission and also after the patient was admitted, showed no evidence of venous thrombosis. However, due to the patient's lower extremity edema, it was difficul...
متن کاملComparison of duplex ultrasonography and venography in the diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis.
Sixty-five patients with suspected deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in 68 limbs were entered consecutively into a study to compare venography with duplex ultrasonography scanning. Both tests were performed on 64 limbs, venography being contraindicated in four. Overall, duplex scanning correctly identified 86 per cent of DVTs diagnosed on venography and correctly excluded 80 per cent with negative v...
متن کاملDiagnosis of deep venous thrombosis. A prospective study comparing duplex scanning to contrast venography.
Duplex scanning has been proposed as a safe alternative to contrast venography for diagnosing deep venous thrombosis, but its accuracy has not been proved. In this prospective, double-blind study of 47 patients, the sensitivity and specificity of duplex scan criteria were determined relative to contrast venography for lower extremity deep venous thrombosis. Criteria considered to show the prese...
